Koala
Koalas are bear-like marsupials (animals that have pouches) that are native to Australia.
Classification
They are mammals and are a part of the Phascolarctidae family.
Appearance
They look like small bears with grey fur, big furry ears and a black nose. There is no fur on the nose and the palms of their paws.
Diet
They are herbivores, which means they eat leaves, grass and grass products. They eat eucalyptus leaves, and some leaves from related tree species.
Habitat
They mostly live over a range of open forests and woodland communities.

- They live for 13-18 years in the wild.
- They sleep for up to 20 hours each day.
- They sleep a lot to conserve energy as their diet requires lot of energy to digest.
