International Day of Forests

Happy International Forests Day!

Wildness is the preservation of the world.
-Henry David Thoreau

Today, let us do something to protect our forests, otherwise known as the "Lungs of the World".
  1. Recycle paper. Do not waste it, since one ton of paper = roughly 24 trees.
  2. DO NOT DEFORESTATE. With every tree you cut down, you are cutting down a cell in your own body. In the ancient time, people had respect for trees, and were both physically and spiritually connected to Mother Nature. Nature helps us survive. This is what nature would be telling you: "Give me care and I'll give you life." The Sanskrit saying “वृक्षो रक्षति रक्षितः” conveys a profound message. This saying emphasizes the importance of preserving trees and highlights that protecting tree ensures the well-being of both individuals and society because trees provide us the necessary things for survival like: oxygen, fruits, medicines, shade, and the list goes on.
  3. Plant a tree whenever you can. Planting just one tree means a lot to Mother Nature. I'm sure everyone knows the power of compounding in various fields: money, habits, etc. The same terms and conditions apply here.

  1. It takes many years to grow a tree but in the name of urbanisation people remove trees without thinking. Good writeup 👏👏
