How to Improve Your English

English is the most commonly spoken language nowadays. Hence it is good to have a proper knowledge of English to communicate, express ideas and learn more.
In ikigai (生きがい) in which there is a thing called the 10,000-hour rule.
After doing the math, the Canadian journalist Malcolm Gladwell came to the conclusion that you need to spend at least 10,000 hours on something to become a master. (From the book, Ikigai for Teens: Finding Your Reason for Being by Héctor García and Francesc Miralles).
Hence, I suggest you apply the same rule to learn English, and other things too.
A few important things to do to improve in English:
  1. Talk to people who know English very well.
  2. Try to read more English articles, newspapers, books, texts out loud.
  3. Read the dictionary like a book (I learnt this from a classmate of mine)
  4. Learn the pronunciations of different words using the dictionary or the web.
  5. Write more in English, like articles, posts, short stories, etc. and don't worry if you make mistake, just correct them.
  6. Consult books, for example like The Comprehensive Grammer of Current English, which gives more insight about the usage of words and some common errors.
  7. Watch English Movies and listen to English podcasts/videos.
With these tips, I wish you a fun and great journey while learning English! 😃
