Importance of Punctuality
People say that first you're supposed to do something right before teaching others to do it. But in the case of this blog post, I am writing it to teach myself and everyone else who read this. To be honest, I wanted to write this post because I did something really unpunctual just a few hours ago (which I usually don't do).
My half-yearly exams had started from 8th September, and today I was revising History for the exam day after tomorrow. I also had a music class at 4:45 pm, and I had checked the time at 4:30 to remind myself that I had the class. I thought I could study in the meantime and start flipping through my notes and the years (I love history). The next thing I knew, I was completely immersed in reading that I hadn't realized what the time was until my mom called me that my music teacher had made a phone call asking whether I was coming. I looked up at the time and realized it was 5:30. (Me: π¨!) I grabbed my books and went running to my class and decided that from the next time I'm going to put an alarm.
This was the second time I was late for the class, both the times because I was reading. (Last time it was Physics πΆ).
Punctuality is an important quality to have (I'm sure you figured that out by now). It gives discipline to life. A disciplined person always gets recognition and social acceptance.
Another significant merit of punctuality it that it provides ample of time to do our work correctly and efficiently.
All the great leaders of the world have had their hallmark as punctuality.
Washington once took his secretary to task for being late. The secretary laid the blame upon his watch. Washington reported that either the secretary must get a new watch or Washington must get a new secretary.
Unpunctual people cause a lot of inconvenience for other people (...πΆ).
Napoleon lost the battle of Waterloo because one of his generals came late (at this point I am seriously going to be on time for my class from now on; I don't want anyone losing battles because of me π).
Finally, what I learnt is that being on time is really important. And I'm going to be on time for my class too (the solution is to not get too engrossed in the textbook.)
